They have an extremely high cost and, if you focus mainly on Campaign Missions and Power Struggles, they will take forever to earn. There are three abilities at the bottom of the Mirian upgrade screen that let you perform unlimited Executions, Elf-Shots/Fire Arrows or Stealth Kills for 20 seconds. You'll generally get 25 for a normal Rune and 50 for an Epic Rune, which doesn't seem like much but can quickly add up if you sell a bunch at once. If you have Runes that you never use or don't like, you can convert them into Mirian from the Rune selection screen.By doing this, you greatly increase your chances of getting an Epic Rune, and they are much better than normal Runes. Then, whenever you are going to take on a Captain or Warchief, send them a Death Threat first by dominating an Orc. Once you can, unlock the ability to send a Death Threat.Doing so will increase your Power and the chances that you'll get a better rune. Always to damage or kill a Captain/Warchief with their Weakness or Fear.If you are surrounded by enemies and are countering more than you are hitting, use Wraith Flash to stun them all and give you some time to attack.Use your Executions to take out Defenders or Beserkers, as these are much harder to defeat in normal combat.Critical Strike gives you an extra point on your hit counter if you time it right, while Blade Master reduces the number of hits you need for a special move from 8 to 5. Two abilities that you should definitely get as soon as possible are Critical Strike and Blade Master. This is helpful if you plan on invading Strongholds, as you can dominate a nearby Graug or pack of Cragors and just send them in to do your dirty work for you. Fighting from atop a creature isn't for everyone, but the creature will still be on your side if you dismount. When you eventually take on the Warchief, not only will his Bodyguards turn on him, but so will most of the nameless minions, making his defeat much easier. You should still do it, but instead of killing them, Brand them. You may think that now that you are more powerful and have more abilities, hunting down a Warchief's Bodyguards before taking them on isn't necessary. Not only are these extremely helpful, they look and feel epic. Sending a Warchief to another Warchief or a Captain will create a Riot, where there will be a big battle between the Warchiefs/Captains, their bodyguards(if they are Warchiefs) and a number of low-level Uruks. This is extremely helpful when branding the Warchiefs for the campaign. There will also be Blue events where you simply have to command your Warchief as to what they should do next.If you want to increase your Power and ensure that your branded Uruks survive, complete these events. ![]() These are the same as Red Power events, only they involve one of the Uruks which you have branded. On the map you will now see Blue Power events. You can also use them to send a death threat. Once a Captain/Warchief is branded, you can grab them and interrogate them without fear of anyone fighting back, and use them for intel. Here are a few tips to help you manipulate the system: Once you have the ability to Brand Uruks, you can use it to your advantage.Use this trick to escape or chase down fleeing captains/warchiefs. When you enter Wraith World (L1), time slows down but you can still move at normal speed.Where ever you use this all the Uruks look and/or investigate. Use this to your adavantage for missions where the Uruks are standing in a circle. Also while in the wraith world you can used the G key (on PC) to distract the Uruks. Later on using the Uruks themselves by branding them or even better a Graug. From the tip above, you can also use Caragors and other creatures to level the playing field at the beginning of the game.Scaling up the wall and letting the groups go to search mode enables you to use stealth takedowns against them if you come from behind, thus weakening the group so you to take on the captain on more favourable odds. If you're having trouble defeating a captain/warchief with a bunch of protecting uruks (as a result of a Death Threat)try playing around their line of sight.
